UPDATE: Fantasy Fest Scooter Accident
No arrests and no charges in Friday’s accident which sent one woman to the hospital with a leg injury.

A woman was injured Friday evening when an SUV struck a scooter stopped at a red light at the intersection of Angela and Duval streets, according to the Key West Police Department.
The accident happened at the conclusion of the Local’s Parade.
Two people were riding the scooter when the SUV hit them from behind. Police said the female passenger went under the truck, prompting bystanders to rush to help. Initial witnesses believed she was pinned, but authorities later confirmed she was not trapped.
The woman was transported to Lower Keys Regional Medical Center with a leg injury, police said. The male driver of the scooter was not reported injured.
“No charges. It was a crash. They happen every day,” said Alyson Crean, public information officer for the KWPD.
Police did not immediately release the names of those involved.
Above the Fold has requested copies of the official incident reports via a public records request and will update when that information is available.
