Parks Board to Review Bayview Park Plan Monday
Key West’s Parks & Recreation Board will receive a presentation on the Bayview Park master plan, alongside an MLK Pool grant request and Little Hamaca repairs.
The City of Key West’s Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will receive a full presentation Monday on the long-awaited Bayview Park master plan, which proposes updated pathways, improved shade, upgraded landscaping, and redesigned gathering areas for one of the island’s busiest parks.
The meeting comes as residents continue debating the new artificial turf installation at the city softball field, a project criticized for its cost and heat concerns.
The board will also consider supporting a Land & Water Conservation Fund grant for upgrades at the MLK Community Pool, hear a seasonal update from the Key West Youth Lacrosse League, and review efforts to secure FDEP funding for repairs to the Little Hamaca Nature Park boardwalk.
The board meets 5 p.m. Monday at City Hall, located at 1300 White St. The meeting will also be live streamed on the city’s website.
