MCSO Nabs Wanted Fugitive
The family of Joyce “Chasity” Bosarge may finally get closure in the matter of her death
KEY WEST — The family of a Theodore, Ala., woman whose body was found on the side of Rebel Road in 2017 may soon get answers.
For nearly eight years, a man who the Mobile County Sheriff's Office identified as a person of interest in the death investigation of Joyce "Chassidy" Bosarge was nowhere to be found until Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Now 64-year-old Ralph Kennedy Pollock was arrested in Key West by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
In November 2017, the body of Bosarge was found on the side of Rebel Road in Mobile County. About a month later, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office identified Pollock as a person of interest.
In 2018, the sheriff's office stated in a Facebook post that there were two warrants for his arrest for obstructing governmental operations and corpse abuse.
Sheriff Paul Burch confirmed in a comment yesterday under the 2018 post that Pollock is in custody and will be brought back to Alabama.
Investigators say Pollock was an acquaintance of the victim, Bosarge. Joyce Zirlott spoke to NBC 15 News shortly after her daughter’s death.
"I want Chassidy to save other people's lives by getting him off the streets," she said. "It really bothers me. I just can't even believe that someone would stoop so low as to bring my daughter and drop her off in a ditch when she had a heart of gold and would carry somebody on her back to a hospital.”
For years, investigators searched for Pollock.
In 2017, NBC 15 News spoke to Mobile Sheriff Paul Burch, who was a captain at that time. He said when investigators spoke to Pollock for the first time, he would not consent to a mouth swab to collect his DNA.
By the time MCSO obtained a court order, Pollock was gone.
"We went to collect the buccal swab and found out he had quit his job of 22 years, packed up and moved, and we can't find him," said Burch. "That's very odd behavior. You just don't quit your job that you've been at for 22 years and just pack up and move."
People claimed to have met Pollock in Key West on the beach.
They commented on a Team Sheriff Facebook post saying that they knew him as 'Ty' or ‘Tyrone.’
Pollock was booked into the jail in Key West with his occupation listed as unemployed and no address.
Pollock is being held in the Monroe County Jail awaiting extradition back to Mobile.
It is still unclear what exactly he is being charged with at this time.
