Make Sure You Pay Cash for Your Spray Paint and Chalk
Apparently, the City of Key West is trying to track down people buying street chalk and spray paint in anticipation of the removal of the Pride crosswalks.
In the “It is so hard to believe that it is actually true department,” I have heard that several City of Key West employees have been visiting Ace Hardware and Home Depot trying to figure out who — if anyone — is buying rainbow colors of street chalk and spray paint.
I know, it seems ridiculous, but after the scolding that citizens received yesterday from the Key West Police Department, I wouldn’t rule anything out.
And if you do buy rainbow colors, make sure the glitter matches.
Be safe.
And instead of painting crosswalks — as one community organizer quipped — paint potholes in rainbow designs.
Maybe that way, the Florida Department of Transportation might get around to fixing them.
Resist.
Persist.

They can’t watch all the crosswalks
