Last Stand has been awarded a 2025 Paradise for Good grant from the Garlo Keeley Fund and the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, the environmental nonprofit announced this week. The funding will support the organization’s educational initiatives aimed at strengthening community resilience through environmental literacy.
“An informed community is an empowered community, and an empowered community is a resilient community,” Last Stand said in its announcement.
The presentation ceremony brought together representatives from numerous Florida Keys nonprofits. Last Stand officials described the event as “heartwarming,” noting the number of local organizations working to fill gaps in the community and “go the extra mile for the sole purpose of helping others.”
