KEY WEST
The Southernmost City will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with a public ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Alex Vega Key West Firehouse Museum, 1024 Grinnell St.
The historic fire bell will toll at 8:46 a.m. and 9:03 a.m., marking the times hijacked planes struck the World Trade Center towers. Residents and visitors are welcome to join local officials, firefighters and first responders. Read more
ISLAMORADA
A 9/11 memorial ceremony at Islamorada Fire Station 20 (81850 Overseas Highway) begins at 9:45 a.m. with guest speaker Pastor Tony Hammon. Additional America 250 patriotic events and a Tunnel to Towers traveling 9/11 exhibit with a drone show are scheduled for November 17 at Founders Park.
KEY LARGO
A remembrance ceremony hosted by the Key Largo Fire Rescue District from 8-9 a.m. is scheduled at Station 25 (220 Reef Drive), followed by a gathering at the Key Largo Fire Rescue Museum (3 East Drive).
The Morning Bucci will return on Sunday.
