While multiple not-for-profits in Monroe County — including the MARC House and Florida Key’s Outreach Coalition — are facing massive funding cuts from Monroe County, a non-profit run by members and administrators of the Monroe County School Board was awarded $500,000 in funding from the Tourism Development Council to help fund a training facility, a concession stand, and museum dedicated to Conch baseball estimated to cost a total of more than $4,000,000.

Their original funding request was for $1.5 million, and was the second largest for the FY 26 grants.
