BREAKING: Kaufman Wins
Rossi defeats Lore in DII; Massicotte defeats Sullivan and Compton/Garcia in run-off.

KEY WEST, Fla. — Challenger Sam Kaufman was declared winner in the race for Key West mayor with nearly 59% of the popular vote.
District V candidate Chris Massicotte beat Chamber of Commerce darling Greg Sullivan and in District IV, candidates Sarah Comption and Wayne Garcia head to a run off in November.
In District II, former City Commissioner Mark Rossi defeated Bobi Lore by less than 40 votes.
“Too many voters in the last year have felt like they were left behind,” said Kaufman. “We need to as a commission want to change the culture of the dais. I want people to come into City Hall. The whole idea that this is Conch’s vs. none Conchs, that doesnt enter into it. Everybody wants a government that works for them.
“If you supported Mayor Henriquez and you have issues you want city hall to work on, I invite you to come and talk to us.”
The results remain unofficial, with all precincts reporting. Official results will be published on Aug. 21 and it remains unclear if Families and Friends for the Keys will contest any of the results.
Too many other races were too close to call because of electoral delays throughout Monroe County.
This is an evolving story. Further updates will come as they are available.
