Closing arguments have concluded in the murder trial of Lloyd Preston Brewer, accused of the 2023 shooting of 21-year-old Garrett Hughes.

Jones will now instruct jurors at 12:05 p.m on what they must find in order to determine guilt for the associated charges.

The jury has three choices:

1. Find Brewer guilty of First Degree Murder with a mandatory life sentence.

2. Find Brewer guilty of Second Degree Murder which would require a score sheet to determine a recommended sentence then a sentencing hearing by Jones at a later date.

3. Find Brewer not guilty.
